My mothers name was Joan Johnson, and she passed away on the 7th December 2002 as a result of Cancer, she was 58 years old.
She worked all her in Thorn EMI factory in Merthyr Tydfil, until she retired.
She was a loving mother, and best friend to me, Beth, and also my brother Scott. She was a devoted wife for 37 years to my dad Allan, and doted on her grandchildren Bronwyn and Rhyan.
She was also mother in law to Rob, and Alison, and a sister who was always there for her brothers Lynn and Howell and their families.
She had too many friends to mention, and she was best friend anyone could ever want.

She wasnt only my mother she was and still is my best friend, we were like two halves, wherever she was I would be there!, the gap she has left in my life cannot be explained, but, I am trying to live my life to the full and fulfill my hopes and dreams as I know she would want me to. When I feel she hasnt seen things I am doing or even my home, I stop and think, no that's wrong, she has because I know she is always with me.
She was a very straight woman, and as result of that people knew where there stood with her, and people respected and loved her for that.
I cant describe how much I miss her, I think of her every single day, and talk to her, I just wish she could answer me. She was taken away way too soon, and I do feel angry for that, but I am also so gratefull for the times we spent together and the love that she gave me, and know she was the best mother that anyone could ever want.
I just miss her so much.

Whenever I think of Auntie Joan, I always have a huge smile on my face. You couldn't hide a thing from her, she was able to see straight through you. With the exception of Ella's father, she was the first person to know I was expecting even before I had a chance to tell Beth. She just knew there was something going on with me!!! I always felt totally relaxed & at home when I was around her & as if I could be totally myself. I think of her often & know she is still all around the people she loves & always will be.xxHayleyxx

She was great!

I've been friends with Beth since we were in Junior school together, and knew Joan very well. Joan was great, she used to look after us girls, and would give us lifts out, make tea for us and film us on her camcorder!
I know that Beth and her family miss Joan a lot, but Joan is always looking down on them
